Our campaign to recall Governor Newsom and elect Larry Elder is approaching the final week. Candidate Larry Elder, nationally syndicated radio host and newspaper columnist, bestselling author, and award-winning documentary filmmaker is currently traveling across the state of California to make his final pitches to eager voters. I wanted to make sure our friends in the media saw these stories.
- In a column published by the Los Angeles Times, author Robin Abcarian highlights former California Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero’s departure from the Democrat party to endorse Larry Elder for governor. Romero is a strong proponent of school choice and decried Newsom’s hypocrisy when he sent his own children to private school during the COVID-19 lockdown orders but closed public schools. She said, “But what about the rest of us? Why can’t we have opportunity scholarships to go to the school of our choice? I recognize an opportunity to throw a monkey wrench into a system that has violated our educational rights and deprived us of the American Dream.”
- Larry Elder recently held a press conference with former California lawmakers Gloria Romero and Abel Maldonado. Maldonado had previously served as the California Lieutenant Governor. During this press conference, they discuss the effects of crime, COVID-19 and education on the Latino population in California.
- Former California State Senate Majority Leader Gloria Romero joined Tammy Bruce on FOX News Primetime to discuss her support of Larry Elder. During the interview, Romero outlined why she felt compelled to speak out and endorse Elder’s candidacy saying, “There were two major issues. One is that I was very tired at this being painted by Gavin Newsom as a right-wing conspiratorial overtake. That’s nothing farther from the truth. This is really a multi-partisan…Democrats, Republicans, Greens in support of recalling a failed governor and looking for an alternative. And then the issue for me especially is that I’ve been a champion and advocate of school choice. I’m disappointed with the failing schools.”
